(NRCC News) – The left is full of maniacal elites who want to control your life. The prospective ban on gas stoves is again making headlines despite the fact that leftists don’t actually want you to know they want to ban your gas stove and anything else in your life that they deem a necessary sacrifice to their climate god.
Now there are two separate federal agencies that are proposing or studying regulations that would severely restrict the use of gas stoves for new construction.
“Instead of working to lower food prices for families and lessening inflation, the Biden administration’s priority is to target as many as 40% of Americans and arbitrarily ban their gas stoves,” Heritage Action Executive Director Jessica Anderson said. “Biden’s Department of Energy has weaponized the federal rulemaking process to push a radical Green New Deal agenda that is neither affordable for American families nor based in science.”
The Department of Energy has actually proposed new energy efficiency standards, which the vast majority of today’s gas stoves would not meet. Meanwhile, the Consumer Product Safety Commission is seeking information on “chronic hazards associated with gas ranges and proposed solutions to those hazards,” potentially in advance of its own rule.
For now, the DOE is claiming its proposals would not result in a ban but does anybody actually believe that?
“The department is conducting this rulemaking on gas and electric cooktops to fulfill its statutory obligations as directed by Congress and a consent decree deadline requiring the final rule to be completed by January 2024,” an agency spokesperson stated. “DOE proposes efficiency standards all the time — for lightbulbs, washers and dryers, refrigerators, and more. Does it mean they’re coming to ban those appliances? Of course not.”
Of the stoves tested by the DOE, 96% did not meet the new regulations but the department insisted that the results “should not be confused with percentage of products that would meet the standard.”
The entire gas stove controversy was ignited after Consumer Product Safety Commission Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. asserted during a Bloomberg interview that gas stoves pose a “hidden hazard” and that “any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”
Trumka, the son of longtime union leader Richard L. Trumka, even claimed it’s a misconception and a “carefully manicured myth” that fine dining has to be done on gas.
You have to wonder how someone with such clear authoritarian aspirations could be in such a position. The backlash was swift.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis immediately called for an end to state taxes on gas stoves and began selling stove-themed merchandise. Florida is also now taking steps to prevent local governments from banning gas.
On the federal level, Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) joined up to introduce a bipartisan bill to block the ban of gas stoves. Cruz was also among a plethora of conservatives who mocked Jill Biden for cooking with gas in a 2020 photo.

Whoever thought lawmakers would have to take these kinds of precautions in America.
Naturally, the White House downplayed Trumka’s comments but conceded that regulations would be applied to new stoves.
“The president does not support banning gas stoves, and the CPSC, which is independent, is not banning gas stoves,” Jean-Pierre noted. “I just want to be very clear on that. And so, again, that’s not something that we can make from here about the safety of a gas stove. That’s not something the White House can provide.”
Despite these remarks, there are still plenty of reasons to worry. Dozens of blue cities and counties have enacted bans on new natural gas hookups and subtler efforts include an $840 rebate on electric stoves hidden in the Inflation Reduction Act.
Climate zealots who support bans on gas stoves cite supposed studies that claim gas stoves cause childhood asthma. The American Lung Association has even come out in support of state-level bans, such as the one in New York. Unhinged Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has gone as far as to suggest gas stoves could be linked with brain damage.
Makes you wonder if this isn’t just a cover-up for issues caused by the obscene number of vaccines children are injected with nowadays. I digress.
On Tuesday, political failure Stacey Abrams announced she joined a dark money group pushing for the crackdown on gas stoves.
“I’m excited to join Rewiring America to share the benefits of electrification and ensure families get their fair share,” Abrams declared on Tuesday. “I look forward to working together as we build the tools that will transform everyday Americans from energy consumers to energy moguls in their own communities.”
What’s most shocking is that many Americans on the left appear to be in favor of banning gas stoves. Morning Consult found that 56% of Democrats favored the idea, with just 26% opposed. Among Republicans, 28% favored the idea, with 56% opposed, and independents were effectively tied.
It’s hard to believe any sane person would get behind this outrageous movement.
Federal agencies are required to hear public comments before changing rules so conservatives have started SaveStoves.com to solicit comments from Americans who love their gas stoves and/or Americans who love freedom and liberty.
“Just as they have with federal rules on everything from Title IX to vaccine mandates,” Anderson remarked, “grassroots Americans need to continue to use the public comment process to delay or even potentially block Biden’s unrealistic and aggressive bureaucratic overreach.”
