(NRCC News) – Now that Republicans will officially be taking control of the US House of Representatives at the start of the new year, it’s time for Republicans to give Democrats a taste of their own medicine.
Enough playing nice. It’s time to play their game and start winning.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich appears to be of the side mindset. Gingrich asserted that Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) would just be following in the precedent set by outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi should he decide to boot objectionable Democrats off their committees.
McCarthy himself has talked about taking this approach when he becomes Speaker and Gingrich thinks he would be totally justified in doing so.
Fox News reported that Gingrich specifically said that McCarthy would be right and should remove Ilhan Omar, Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from their assignments.
Gingrich remarked, “I think Nancy Pelosi set the precedent. She did something that had never been done before and reached into the minority party to decide who could and could not serve on some committees. I think Kevin McCarthy is following her precedent. So the Democrats have nothing to complain about because they started this dance and frankly, the three people he’s picked so totally deserve to be kicked off committees.”
“It’s unbelievable,” he continued, “Adam Schiff made a career out of lying to the American people while serving as chairman of the Intelligence Committee without any question, just plain, flat-out lying. Swalwell has had a relationship with a Chinese communist. That’s unimaginable for somebody who’s going to have security clearance. And of course, Omar is a viciously anti-Israel, antisemitic orator who has consistently violated the norms of civilized behavior. So I think those are three pretty good targets. And I commend Speaker-designate McCarthy for taking them head-on.”
We all know too well the web of lies pushed by Adam Schiff, with the completely bogus, unsubstantiated Trump-Russia collusion hoax being at the top of the list.
This actual conspiracy theory has been debunked repeatedly and now those responsible for carrying it out are facing consequences for their actions. However, Schiff and many other Democrats have refused to let go of this narrative or admit it was all smoke and mirrors.
At the very least, Schiff should not be allowed to continue to sit on the Intelligence Committee.
Swalwell is another who should not be allowed to sit on the Intelligence Committee that has access to the country’s secrets and confidential information. He carried on a “relationship” with a known Chinese spy. He shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near anything confidential.
Ilhan Omar’s many attacks against Israel have made her completely unfit to serve on a committee in Congress. She should be on a terror watch list, not the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Pelosi kicked off this practice when she booted Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) from her committee assignments over her political opinions. She also refused to allow Republicans to choose who they wanted to represent them on her sham Jan. 6 committee.
McCarthy has already expressed his desire to possibly remove Schiff, Swalwell and Omar from their committee assignments, telling Fox News he plans to keep the promise he made in January.
He stated, “One thing I said from the very beginning, Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the public sector. Why would we ever give him a security clearance and the secrets to America? So, I will not allow him to be on Intel. You have Adam Schiff, who lied to the American public time and again – we will not allow him to be on the Intel Committee either. Look at Congresswoman Omar, her antisemitic comments that have gone forward. We’re not going to allow her to be on Foreign Affairs.”
Let’s hope McCarthy follows through.

I think the American People will put this New Republican House under the microscope to determine their ability to lead. And to show that they mean business to hold democrats accountable with their crazy policies. Republican Politicians had better if they want any chance for winning in 2024.
