(NRCC News) – The US military is just looking for ways to become more and more woke and subsequently more weak. It’s truly embarrassing.
In its latest effort, the Department of Veterans Affairs has changed its mission statement. Of course, the point of the change is to be more “inclusive.” The new motto, announced Thursday in a news release, features a gender-neutral change from its previous mission statement.
How thrilling.
In the old mission statement, both male and female veterans were addressed and a direct quote from President Abraham Lincoln was featured. It read:
“To fulfill President Lincoln’s promise ‘to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan’ by serving and honoring the men and women who are America’s veterans.”
The new mission statement reads as follows:
“To fulfill President Lincoln’s promise to care for those who have served in our nation’s military and for their families, caregivers, and survivors.”
As you can see, the quote from Lincoln included in the original mission statement was removed altogether in the new version. Now the statement simply refers to Lincoln’s remark which was made during his Second Inaugural Address in 1865 as he promised to take care of those who served the nation during the Civil War.
We at VA proudly serve all who served. That's why, today, we're launching our new mission statement:
“To fulfill President Lincoln's promise to care for those who have served in our nation’s military and for their families, caregivers, and survivors.” https://t.co/pOC0LMxB4v

The news release explains, “The previous mission statement is posted in roughly 50% of VA’s facilities. Over the coming months, VA’s new mission statement will replace the previous version.”
There has never been any discrimination in the eligibility for treatment at VA facilities. Men and women have always received the same care. Yet, the Department of Veterans Affairs apparently has nothing else to do besides ensure the full wokeness of the US military. They’re simply doing their part.
In the news release, Secretary Denis McDonough said the department wanted to include more people in its mission statement, you know, the people who aren’t men or women. It’s utter lunacy. As if anyone who is supposedly confused about their gender should be serving in the US military.
“Whenever any veteran, family member, caregiver or survivor walks by a VA facility, we want them to see themselves in the mission statement on the outside of the building,” he stated.
“We are here to serve all veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors—and now, our mission statement reflects exactly that.”
As if it didn’t before. In the America of the past, it certainly did. Not now that we’re living in Clown Town. Now we have to be “inclusive” and give recognition and affirmation to those among us with what used to be considered a mental disorder, whether they are afflicted legitimately or fashionably.
The new mission statement comes as the VA works to counteract an epidemic of veteran suicides. Surely the underlying cause is a lack of diversity. The people in charge are truly sick.
One disturbing estimate indicates that as many as 44 veterans commit suicide every day — well more than twice the official VA estimate of 17 suicides a day.
The agency has also increased eligibility for veterans to receive in-patient mental health treatment, something that is truly needed and will have an actual, measurable impact.
We can only hope that veterans are able to get adequate services that will address whatever physical and/or mental health issues they might have despite the Department of Veterans Affairs spending all its time trying to prove just how woke, inclusive and progressive it is and pandering to a section of society that would never lift a finger to serve anyone or anything.
The US has become dangerously weak under Joe Biden.

Pure B/S this country is gone. This is one reason I do not use the VA.
I don’t have an issue with the new mission statement itself as it doesn’t specifically use the terms Transgender or LGBTQ and what ever other letters they add to it this week. The big issue I have with the VA is when you go to your appointments you see signs that state what the check in clerk for your appointments Pronouns are. I’m still addressing a woman as a woman and a man as a man. But the biggest issue of all is when the Trump Administration was in charge, you could actually start getting timely appointments. Now that Biden id in Office it takes forever to get an appointment. Trump had made it so that if you worked for the VA and you didn’t do your job you got fired. With Biden you don’t get fired anymore. I see employees at the Dallas VA standing around in groups just having a casual conversation blocking the hallways when Veterans are trying to get to their appointments. You constantly have to tell them to move so you can get through. My wife, who is also a Veteran, has anxiety every time she has a VA appointment.
